What are you wild about, Mister Vader?

Philippine mentalist and magician Marcelle Fabie of Mister Vader, shares with us his latest purchase that he is so wild about!

What is that one purchase that you are so wild about?

"Recently, I bought a new card game from Rio Grande Games, called "Dominion." Cost me a couple of thousand bucks, but it was well worth it. The premise of the card game is pretty simple: to build a deck from a limited card pool while competing with other players, by gaining treasure and action cards to make your deck stronger, then purchasing victory cards that are counted at the end of the game to determine who wins."

Why did you choose that card game?

"Sometime last year, during a pre-release for Magic: The Gathering, the staff of Neutral Grounds were playing Dominion, and they asked me if I wanted to try the game out. I tried it out, and won my first game, as the cards played right into my experience as an MTG player. So when Christmas rolled around, I just knew what to get myself for a Christmas present."

Do you find that card game a keeper?

"Absolutely! A few of my friends also like the game, so I've sort of spread the gospel about Dominion already, especially since it won 2009's Spiel des Jahres (Germany's Game of the Year.), and has come out with a lot of expansions to enhance the playing experience. Just last week, Hobbes hosted the first-ever Dominion tournament in the Philippines, and because of the fact that I've played the game extensively with friends, I actually managed to win the tournament. This is a Christmas gift to myself that just keeps on giving!" - Marcelle Fabie
