New Hair Color!

Since I got my new hairstyle a few weeks ago, I've been itching to change my color too! As seen on my melon-head cat post, my hair is reeking of golden brown and some weird dark shade of blonde. I wanted to lighten up the color a bit more, but I also wanted to try the hair color home kit that has been sitting in my closet for quite some time.

I got the box and took it out for a spin!

This L'Oreal Excellence Creme in Light Brown was a gift to me (or my mom?) last holiday. Back then I just had my hair colored to golden brown blonde, that's why I wasn't able to use this box set yet.

Just so you know, this is how my hair looks like before I used the L'Oreal hair color set...

taken during broad daylight, no fluorescent light used

I took out all the stuff inside the box and read the instructions. I'm not a pro in doing hair color on my own, ok! I always avail of salon services for this kind of thing. So anyways, here are the contents of the box:

clockwise: rubber gloves,Ceramide conditioner, Protective Serum, Protective Creme Colorant, Creme Developer, manual, comb applicator

I asked help from my yaya for the colorant application because I can't the back part of my hair. I suggest that if you want to try to do this on your own, get two mirrors and sit in between the two- this way you'll see the front and back parts of your hair.

It took me around two hours to finish the whole thing- from the Protective Serum application to Ceramide conditioning. After blow-drying, here's how my hair looked like!

taken during night time with the use of fluorescent light

At first I wasn't too happy about my color because it was too dark- more like I just went back to my natural color. Then, I felt that I look like a ninja Anna Wintour! Not bad, haha! :P

What I like about using L'Oreal Excellence Creme is that I didn't feel a sting on my scalp. Plus, the colorant didn't dry out my hair! Yay! If you plan to use L'Oreal Excellence Creme, you have to prepare your nostrils. It really smells weird (like bathroom acid cleaner of some sort) and you have to endure for thirty minutes. That aside, L'Oreal Excellence Creme has my thumbs up x2!

  1. Before : Perfectly shaped hair. After - still perfectly shaped hair!

It should lighten up in a few days! :) Coloring's usually like that. I stepped out of the salon not happy with my normally brown hair, then after a few weeks, people started saying my color's nicely lighter! Super labo no! :)

  2. Onga eh! It says in the box that color will lighten after a few shampoos, and if heat is applied on to hair. :p I shall wait for a few days, then!

  10. This is what I've been using for the past couple of years, color iced latte. Punyetang baho diba?? You never get used to it. Smells like corn starch for the first few days esp in the shower. Looks great though. When you go to the states, try their Garnier (Garnier hair color here isn't so good, much like L'oreal there isn't so good, which is surprising.)

Pero gwapo mo parin ricky <3 kinikilig ako to the pepe.

  14. When I was in Canada we used Garnier and Clairol. Tindi ng Garnier pag sinabi sa box blonde, as in bonggang blonde talaga!!
