Music Mondays: Steady After-weekends

So far, this is the best Monday I've ever experienced this year! I already felt great at 9 in the morning because my friend got my favorite radio DJ-slash-personality crush to greet me a belated happy birthday. (Thank you again Tippy!) Or.. I was just too excited to hear the daily dish of chismis from work.

Mondays might be a bore for most people. Since I'm such a happy cat today, thought I'd share some earcandy to hype up people on their swivel seats in the middle of the afternoon! Here are my top 3 picks for Music Monday:

I always feel kilig whenever I hear a song with good lyrics from boybands. Truth is, I just want someone to tell me I'm very beautiful. CHOS!!

This song is catchy enough to make it linger in your head for a week (I'm still LSS-ing over it!). Love the meaning of the lyrics, though I find the ass on the title a bit funny. Oh, and play this song while driving - perfect for the road!

Brown Bag Vintage & Crafts Market

As a little girl, I loved making small crafts using scrap lying around the house. Back then, I would usually go to my Mom's room and get whatever I can find (a.k.a. almost everything in her room), decorate my things with it, and parade it around my classroom the next day. Sigh, I miss those days when I have so much time making pretty little things!!

Hopefully this second week of December, I have free time to reminisce the good old scrappy days and attend the Brown Bag Vintage & Crafts Market!



 

On December 9, Brown Bag Events Management is holding a Vintage & Crafts Market at Filipinas Heritage Library, Ayala Triangle. There's storytelling, papercut art, shoe design workshop, accessory making, and so much more!!



What's awesome is that ENTRANCE IS FREE!! Anyone can come and enjoy!

Yabba Dabba Halloween

While Halloween is just about to end in some parts of the world, MNL just had an awesome long weekend to celebrate Halloween! Did you guys have fun? Well, I sure did. I came as a sailor (BOO NO PHOTO) at Jel's party, and Pebbles at Nadia's 5th Halloween Party. I had to sew a makeshift Pebbles top. I don't want to ruin the green tops inside my closet so I just bought a few yards of jersey and placed everything together.



So awesome to see some university friends and have a little reunion!

Red Hair Attempt #2

I took a trip uptown to Podium and gave my hair another revamp. I had my fingers crossed the whole time when I was driving going to the salon, because the first attempt for my hair to turn red was a half-baked fail. I left my hair's fate to Miguel of Hairshaft, who is also Kring's stylist!

Miguel plopped me down on a comfy seat, asked me what I wanted, and went down to business. He first snipped some parts of my hair. He was actually cool; he gave inputs on what style best fits my face and character (MEGANON!!). We ended up having a shorter length on the right than on the left, and a reaaaally short bob at the back. Shorter than the bob that I always have.

After the cut, Miguel and his assistant started applying the two levels of bleach on my hair. I was shaking like a soaking wet duck.

Elements Gastrolounge: the science of yum and fun Pt. 2

So where was I? Oh yeah.

Elements Gastrolounge has the perfect pub/bar setup and awesome-est bar chow. What makes it a complete party hole is the drink selection. I've never seen such artistic style of serving cocktails! Only in Elements.

I tried their prized drinks. Prized, because the owners really sat down and thought about the cocktail recipes. They want to make sure that merriment is circulating in their pub at every aspect. I feel relieved because now I know a place that serves good hard (literally) drinks. Mind you, all their drinks are traitors - it will get you drunk and you don't even know how. I think that's good. It means you'll surely enjoy the taste of your cocktail without worrying about the stinky strong smell and icky taste of  hard liquor.

First drink that came out of the bar was their signature Red Iced Tea. The only drink I had that night without alcohol!



After my first sip, it's actually pretty good! It didn't taste like red iced tea from a packet that's being supplied to (insert a random Japanese restaurant name here). Perfect drink to clear your palette!

Elements Gastrolounge: the science of yum and fun

Have you ever wondered what happened to the small bar on the third floor of Greenbelt 3 with beds in it? Yep, that bar is gone now. It got an awesome makeover though, and I was able to visit the place right before it publicly opened.



Oh yeah, it's not called Bedspace anymore. It's now known as Elements Gastrolounge.

Retail Of The Moment: Wah Wah Accessories

I'm going gaga over this accessory brand I found online called Wah Wah. The designs are absolutely amazing! I've never seen edgy and chic mix like this! The Wah Wah accessories are a mix of clean shapes and metals that exude contrast and balance.

Hello Kitty x Forever 21

Every little girl's favorite character is Hello Kitty (or at least one of the favorites) and I bet she's one of your favorites, too! Even though we're all big girls now, we still love the cutie kitty cat and her pretty red bow. Forever 21 loves Hello Kitty too! Since being 21 forever is about being young at heart (forevaaaah!), they incorporated Hello Kitty on some of their pieces!

Probably the only platform-less shoe that I will wear during my lifetime... unless someone else makes a shoe that's more glittery that this!

Smart Netphone v.1 : Unboxing

I was lucky enough to be able practice my present-opening skills with the brand-spankin' new Smart Netphone 701! The review unit package came from Smart's HQ, and I was tasked to use it for a few days of my life's routine.



I'm pretty excited to have my hands on this sweet little thing since it's new to the market, plus I've never had a Smart-powered phone!
